The P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute is pleased to announce the open call for the OHO Group Award 2025 – The central independent award for young visual artists aged 40 and under in Slovenia.
We kindly invite artists, institutions, and organizations, to apply, or to apply artists who work in the field of contemporary visual art in the media of drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, video, new media, or performance. The applications will be reviewed by an expert jury. Four nominees will be selected. This open call is open until 12 March 2025.
The OHO Group Award is presented by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute, Ljubljana, in cooperation with Residency Unlimited New York and Trust for Mutual Understanding New York. The OHO Group Award is part of the Young Visual Artist Award international network that brings together similar national awards from eleven European countries.

The expert jury consists of Miha Colner (curator, Božidar Jakac Art Museum, Kostanjevica na Krki), Michaela Stock (Michaela Stock Gallery, Vienna), Matej Stupica (artist, Ljubljana) and Janka Vukmir (Institute for Contemporary Art, Zagreb).
Miha Colner (1978) is an art historian who works as a curator at the Božidar Jakac Art Museum, Kostanjevica na Krki. He is also active as a lecturer and writer specialised in the field of photography, graphics and moving images. In the period 2017 – 2020, he was a curator at the International Centre of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, and in the period 2006 – 2016 at the Photon Gallery in Ljubljana.
Matej Stupica (1987) is an artist who works in various fields of art: installations, drawings, performances, artist books, paintings, comics, illustrations, and audio editions. In 2014, he graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. Since 2006, he has been publishing illustrations for the newspaper Dnevnik’s Saturday supplement, Objektiv. Since 2012, he has also been working in tandem with artist Lenka Đorojević.
Janka Vukmir is an art historian, curator and art critic. She lives in Zagreb. She is a founder and president of the Institute for Contemporary Art (1998). She is the editor of several books and publications. She regularly publishes her texts in print and electronic media. She co-founded the Radoslav Putar Award (2002), which is dedicated to young artists in Croatia.
Michaela Stock (1970) was born in Innsbruck and lives and works in Vienna. In 2008, she founded a gallery with a strong focus on performance art, photography and video. The gallery primarily supports Central and Eastern European art, especially from young artists, and destructive and radical art.
