______
Josef Dabernig (1956) is an artist and filmmaker. Initially trained as a sculptor, he graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 1981, but later on he extended his artistic practice to other media: film, photography, text and questions of architectural display. Josef Dabernig is known for his exploration of social systems, post-wall Eastern European, brutalist architecture, conceptual austerity, and dry humor. His conceptual art production is characterized by contextual thinking and structurally combining linguistic (or mathematical) signs with visual signs. Films since 1994. Lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
Tadej Pogačar (1960) in 1993 established the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Museum of Contemporary Art, a virtual organization. As a parallel institution, it serves as a critical model for analysing systems and the institutions within them. Devising fictitious systems and establishing fictitious institutions, Pogačar explores and spotlights hidden, obscured or ignored social phenomena, groups, practices, and relations. Part of his artistic practice involves invading real institutions and working within them. The second half of the seventies were crucial for artistic formation of Tadej Pogačar. Experimental music played a key role during this time. In addition he engaged in photography, ephemeral and performative actions in public space. The first series of photographs from the mid-1970s were created as a systematic recording and documenting the environment. The second part of the production are spontaneous performative actions, neo – Dadaist campaigns, which included randomly found objects and trash. Pogačar called them actions without event. Lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
