The 2023 OHO Group Award winner is Ana Likar.
The selection was made unanimously by the expert jury consisting of Alenka Gregorič (artistic director, Cukrarna, Ljubljana), Marko Košan (curator / museum counsellor, Koroška Gallery of Fine Arts, Slovenj Gradec), and Maja Hodošček (visual artist and curator, Centre for Contemporary Arts, Celje).

Nineteen applications were submitted to the public call. We thank all the artists for their participation and congratulate the nominees.
The OHO Award, established in 2005 by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute, is the central national award for young visual artists. It is part of the Young Visual Artist Award international network which brings together non-governmental organizations from Central and Eastern Europe. The New York residency is organized in cooperation with our American partners, the Trust for Mutual Understanding New York and Residency Unlimited New York which coordinates the accommodation and creative work of artists in the USA. After a two-month art residency in New York, the winner will present a solo exhibition at the P74 Gallery in Ljubljana.
Maja Bojanić, The Sistine Chapel Ceiling Vol.2, 2022-2023
Maja Bojanić (1997) is a visual artist whose work explores the relationship between a document and its effects on reality, especially in the context of (overlooked) public and private heritage policies. Her art is characterized by an intermedia approach to dealing with the specificity of given, selected situations. In 2020, she graduated in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana and is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in the department of transdisciplinary art. Between 2019 and 2020, she studied in the Netherlands as part of the Erasmus+ exchange program. Since 2020, she resides in the virtual space Nowehere.gallery.

Pita Project (Nina Goropečnik & Rea Vogrinčič)
The artists Nina Goropečnik and Rea Vogrinčič have been developing the Pita Project platform since December 2019. It is a platform for the research and presentation of their own practice within which they take on and explore different roles within the art system. They are interested in the support mechanisms, structures, and systems that are necessary for carrying out an art exhibition. For this project, they received an award from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in the academic year 2019/20.
Nina Goropečnik (1993) works in the field of visual and performance art. She is interested in processuality and questioning of the relationship between visibility and the spectator. In 2022, she completed her master’s studies at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. During the same year, she was an intern at WHW Zagreb, and in 2018/19 she participated in the Erasmus+ exchange program at Iceland University of the Arts.
Rea Vogrinčič (1994) works in the field of visual and intermedia art as an artist, curator, and producer. She graduated from the Painting Department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2018 and is now completing her postgraduate studies in sculpture at the same institution. She was a participant of the 17th generation of the School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing – World of Art at SCCA-Ljubljana.

Ana Likar (1996) is an intermedia artist whose work is based on questioning the conditions for narration and image production and attempts to address what remains hidden in the process. The eroded ideas of progress, the ruins of modernity, the ideological loops in popular science discourses, and travel in time and space (the universe) are topics that often find form in her works through layering, (non)transparency, and repetitions. After initially studying sociology and philosophy at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, she finished her studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Site-Specific Art). During that time, she was also an exchange student in Athens (2018–2019) and attended a summer school in Kosovo (2019).
Nik Erik Neubauer, #23, iz serije Ko greš na jug vedno jokaš dvakrat, 2019
Nik Erik Neubauer (1994) is a visual artist and photographer. The focus of his work, marked by a distinct artistic approach, is mainly street and documentary photography. He received his master’s degree in photography from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana (2021). He was nominated for the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award 2021, while the GUP Magazine ranked him among the most promising European photographers. He is also the recipient of the Watchdog Award 2021, awarded by the Slovene Association of Journalists for his long-term project of documenting anti-government protests in Slovenia. In 2022, he was one of the winners of the Belfast Photo Festival in the photobook category.
