The ArtsLibris fair in Madrid was founded fifteen years ago and occurs as part of the ARCOmadrid art fair. This year dates are between 6 and 10 March 2024 at the IFEMA fairground in Madrid. The fair’s identity extends to the Mediterranean and South America, with special emphasis placed on dialogue, experimentation, and the development of new generations. This year’s edition will host more than eighty publishers from twenty countries.
In addition to the current editions and artist books by domestic authors, P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute will exhibit this year’s new publications, such as SOG, Every Day I Have To by Mina Fina, and P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E.
Publications and art editions of Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. can be found here.

Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. (P74 Gallery) is an independent artist book publisher that systematically and continuously supports and popularises the medium of the artist book. Despite its exceptional importance in contemporary art history, the artist book has been often overlooked in Slovenia. 2004, we published the first public tender for a new artist book. In 2008, we received our first invitation to participate in the international artist book fair Art Book International at the prestigious Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. This was followed by the opening of KAPSULA, a specialised bookstore for artist books in the Ajdovščina underpassage in Ljubljana (relocated to Ljubljana’s Šiška neighborhood in 2012). In 2009, invitations to the NY Art Book Fair in New York and the Miss Read Fair in Berlin followed. In 2010, we organised the first artist book festival and fair in Ljubljana, which hosted around 20 foreign and local independent publishers; the fair featured the overview exhibition The Artist Book in Slovenia 1966 – 2010 in Kresija Gallery. In addition to regular participation in the largest European artist book fairs (in Paris, Brussels, Berlin, London, and Vienna) over the years, we prepared several exhibitions of Slovenian production of artist books in London (Digital Gallery, South Bank University), Bitola (International Festival AKTO 7, Bitola) and Zagreb (Academia Moderna), and organised numerous public workshops in Ljubljana, Murska Sobota, and Maribor. In 2013, several artist books that we published (artist books by Dejan Habicht, Tanja Lažetić and Tadej Pogačar) were exhibited in the prestigious Gagosian Gallery in New York, Paris, the Brandhorst Museum in Munich, and the Gagosian Gallery in Los Angeles. Books published by P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute can be found in the most important collections of artist books around the world (MoMA NY, Tate London, Georges Pompidou Paris, Wesserburg Dresden, Metropolitan Museum NY, Ludwig Museum Budapest, MSU Zagreb, MG+MSUM Ljubljana, MGLC Ljubljana, ICP NY, …). We aim to promote local artist books in the international environment and at the most important international fairs.
